To whomever

To whomever

A Story by Nicholas

To whoever continues to read my letters,

I find more and more that drugs surround me in daily life. I work along functional potheads, and one who subscribes to cocaine. Against the temptation I don’t partake in those drugs. I prefer two legal drugs of nicotine and caffeine. They give me the patience and stamina to write down my personal monologues deep into the night.

The most interesting of the two being nicotine in the form of cigarettes, for they are twenty short lived lives in a red or gold package. Like life they begin with a spark to ignite, and end with a nip in the bud. Each breath can equate to an enjoyable high that fades to a slow burn until the next deep breath that brings another high, then repeat until it all comes to an end being decomposed back into the earth. Breathing it into the lungs and letting it fill you with its enjoyable poison until you end in the same way.

The other being caffeine in the form of coffee, with a bite equivalent to a bitter herb then all that is needed is a little sugar to make it a little more enjoyable.

The combination of the two in the same siting allows me to write down my thoughts in to coherent sentences. Take them away and my words on paper begin to match the words that I speak in real life. My words on paper become scratched and illegible, and soon crumpled in a trash bin, or shredded in another bin.

Addictively Yours,
