The long roadA Poem by Nick.BDreaming of the long road
Have you felt the pain,
of a dream that was never gained? Now, maybe I'm no billionaire, and I still don't care, maybe I don't own plane in my life I got carried away, don't think I own a fast car on the fast road I'm no threat, Standing here in the dark, looking at the moon to spark, no effect in my mind, Here I go again, trying to go back, even though back home I'm considered a fool, maybe they're right, who knows? Hiding behind a dream, thinking of some lie to tell them. Daddies little girl wants a brand new car, she's dreaming of an alibi, "Honey I need you right now, you can't just drive as far as you need" He wants her home with any expense Early one morning the sun was shining, a playboy woke up from his bed, wondering if he's still the same, if his life was not away, his folks never dreamed for all this, sure it was really rough he never did like his mamas way of life, his papa's wasn't there enough Heading off for the west coast, he had a dream getting through Abandoned all his problems back home looking in the mirror thinking back to his road "Don't you think, I better be my way back home?" © 2013 Nick.BAuthor's Note
