The ghost of you still remains

As I look I feel a pain

My eyes expect you everywhere

Then I find that you are not there

It weighs heavily on my heart today

There’ll be no more sending you out to play

The ball stands still

The stuffed animal is safe

No more warm tongue licking my face

So many memories filled with joy

Like watching you tear up that brand new toy

Now your backyard is the great sky

Shoot me a star from way up high

If you run fast you may catch the sun

I’ll see you smiling having some fun

Then late at night go and take a nap on the moon

Know that I love you and will be joining you soon

When I close my eyes I can see you so clear

But I’m not dreaming when I still feel you near

Each of my tears bears a stain

Like the ghost of you that still remains…
