Never is a Long Time

Never is a Long Time

A Poem by Astro

You could call me ‘Never’,

like a glass of poison refused.

Point at me and grimace,

like a tender and purple bruise.

You can call me ‘Never-again’,

like a taste too sharp to stand.

Avoid me and be happy,

like hidden glass beneath the sand.

You could call me ‘Never-was’,

like tiny leprechauns and sprites.

Ponder ifs and then wonder,

like making wishes in the night.

So call me what you will,

like kittens found inside a box.

See you’re not in Neverland,

like what you see, give it a shot.
