Spence's Bridge

Spence's Bridge

A Poem by Astro
"

The POV from the valley

"
The moment breaks my heart
with a wood splitting   crack
Here is where I greedily inhale
the blueness of the sky above
as splinters and cedar pollen
leave lasting impressions upon
my body.

My eyes charge up the mountain
bounding from crag rock to gully
past a dusty sagebrush audience
hanging about the foothill stage
watching my cascades tumbling
down from each focused step of
  my performance.

Yet I remain fixed propping awe
and catching the echoes touch
of train whistles droning heavily
atop the rumbling of iron horses
peering down into the rivers run
where salmon kiss golden flakes
in my imagination.

What an amazing imagery! I felt the "echos touch" of trains whistling... and nature calling your attention... the beauty of it is vibrantly depicted.

Well done, bro. Your imagery here is beyond rich, each stanza is like a different window in a room you walk your reader to and allow them to peer out. The breaks of the respective final lines, adds to the allure of the piece on first glance. I don't write of nature well, so usually I am easy to impress in that stadium, but this is exceptional.

Its always well deserved.
Beautiful imagery in this one, my friend. There are so many little gems of language here; little treasure like polished stones just begging to be collected. Interesting concept as well, taking something like this from the POV of the earth/nature. Impressive write...
