In your absence

In your absence

A Poem by Nick

If you knew what I said in your absence

You’d think I was crazy

That I’m a fool

Yet I don’t want to tell you

Not yet.

I’m afraid

I’m afraid you’re gonna say no

That it’s not what you want

That it’s not what you’re looking for

It’s boring

It’s dull

It’s too much

It’s me

I’m afraid

I please people

I want you to be happy.

And if you’re not happy

then

...

I’m happy

I’m content in my life ... as hectic as it is

Yet I long to see other people happy

And I want you to feel

As comfortable as me

Like I can be myself

But

I’m afraid

I’m afraid that I’m putting in time

To lose you

To lose
