Fall From Grace

Haunted by the black betrayal
Now and forever entombed
Within the shadows of
My broken hopes and dreams.

Laughing at me
All the while
Innocence becomes
Forever lost;

Evil lurks around
Every corner,
Upon every alter,
Within every ego...

No regrets, nor remorse
To ever behold...
Closing in, suffocating
All that I hold near, dear, or sacred;

I curse my screaming pleas
Cried out in vain
He needlessly tossed aside
Without a second glance.

Time heals no wounds nor soothes the pain
Of my blood drenched broken heart;
Devoured by empty promises and broken vows;
Abandoned and vulnerable forever;
Ceasing to ever beat again;

As the vultures pluck away at my lifeless flesh
And the blood slowly drains
From my cold dead heart;
My soul no longer remains...
