Red Veil

Red Veil

A Poem by Nichole Juliet Hemstock
"

A friend went to the hospital a while ago for cutting, and this just came to me while I was thinking, as my poems often do.

"
A rush, a breeze,
A secret, a need,
A longing, an obsession,
The cure to all depression.

A cut, a flood,
The pain, the blood,
The red veil you hide behind,
The love you'll never find.

The necessity to stop,
But the longing to keep going,
At times you try to stop,
But the urge keeps growing.

The power over you,
The obsession you can't rid,
You cannot fight alone,
Against something this big.

I just discovered someone I love is doing this, and it kills me inside. This is amazing.
Good job.
