DrudanA Poem by Nichole Juliet HemstockThis is a story type poem thing that i dedicate to my cousin Drudan. He committed suicide three years ago.
Drudan was normal,
Nothing wrong with him at all, But in his late school district, His grades began to fall, His family started to worry, They asked him what was wrong, And when he replied, "nothing." They kept pressing on. At school they would harass him, But no one ever knew, Exactly what poor Drudan, Was really going through. Until one forlorn day, His family got a call, Drudan took his own life, That hopeless day in Fall. They wouldn't give us details, Nor would they give us why, Everything they told us, Seemed like a dirty lie. At first they said they didn't know, And then they said they couldn't tell, Poor Drudan's mom got on the phone, And then began to yell, "My baby boy is dead, And you say he took his life, Am I supposed to think, That a school will tell no lies?" The lady on the phone, With tears in her eyes, Took a deep breath, And Began to reply. "Drudan was a victim, Of bullying and harassment, The kids would pick on drudan, In all of his classes." "So that is your excude, For the death of my son, Srudan was my only boy, My only child, My only one." So with regret and deep sorrow, I can't speak for them too, But I love you cousin Drudan, And I will remember you.
