One Inch tall

One Inch tall

A Story by Camille Corbett
"

a short humourous excerpt from my diary

"

If I were once inch tall I would never have to worry about work ever again!Chores? It's not like I can mow the lawn! Occupations? The only thing I could really do is be a writer which is what I wish to be anyways!

Yes, I do think that being one inch tall would be the life..........

Except........... I cannot go outside. Imagine, a little one inch me, splashing about in a porcelain bowl, minding my own business and then ......WHAM!A filthy hawk snatches up me with their monstrous claws and leads me to my doom! Oh the horror!

Or Imagine me running about my lawn, trying to get a workout (for even one inch girls need to retain their figure) and..........STOMP some inconsiderate person decides to walk on my lawn and didn't notice I was there! Then I should be a one inch cripple! Now that would be incredibly bad luck.!

Yes perhaps being one inch tall is not exactly the life I had been idolizing so..................................

But what about food? Oh how many times I have had a piece of pie and it wasn't enough for me? But at one inch I shall always be completely satiated! It shall be wonderful! Inches of cheese cake will be like meters of it to you! Oh the the sheer beauty of being so small!

And clothes! I shall I have tons and tons of clothes since I can always just go to a store where dolls are sold and get a cute outfit! Stylish and well feed! That really does seem like the life!

Oh If a genie could come right now! I would ask him to become one inch tall!

However, what about reading? My beloved Harry Potter books shall turn into looming hills of alabaster paper and shining ink! And think, turning a page will turn into a physical task requiring stamina and I shall lack the usual relaxation I get from my favorite hobby! Oh the dilemma!

As I can tell, whether I be 9 feet tall or an itty bitty inch, life most defiantly shall not be a synch.
