Tease Mawray - Dinner for two...

A greet and meet, the things memories are made of...

During a black-tie dinner engagement, where Tease Mawray was to speak, a pretty girl of slight frame fought the crowd to get close to the iconic legend.

Bumped and shoved by an aggressive media, Tease watched as she fought her way to his side. He gave the bodyguards a nod, and looking down, gave his best smile to the courageous woman.

She took a few moments to compose herself, pulled her blond hair back out of her eyes, looked up, and asked, why did you quit drinking? Impatient and waiting for a reply, she stared a defiant, piercing, serious look in the icon’s direction.

To the onlooker, and curious enough, she asked her question as if she had a right to, and Tease was impressed. The legend glanced the crowd before answering.

In an instant, he remembered a fine and often embarrassing drinking career that spanned many years; at great expense, and littered with so many fallen leaves, yet an exciting and dangerous period for many of us who were there, he silently thanked her for the memory.

Slowly he turned his gaze from those who craved it, back to the young woman, and without hesitation said "it was simply time to move on, time to hear another song, play another tune, stand a different stage, it was time for me to meet you."

With a great smile, he continued; I would do it again anytime, for I now know, it was all worthwhile.

With that, he watched as she rushed between diamonds, rubies, and the world’s most sought after as she vanished from view, leaving the legend with a scent of roses, and one more silent memory to keep.
