Foggy EdgeA Poem by NianqueFog alertSometimes, I look over the edge Into what lies below I am blinded and obscured To its view Due to the heavy fog Lying between us like a curtain Blocking and distorting the possibilities That flee from my view Noting dark shapes Swirling lights Muted colors I am confused I don’t know what I am trying to see What is it that I am looking for? As if linked to my thoughts The fog lifts and clears I close my eyes I am afraid of what I may find Lying beneath the now distinct fog Lungs inhale chilled air Peeking I peer over © 2010 NianqueAuthor's Note
