Lost ChanceA Poem by NianqueI Heard an Arabic song that sounded really sad and this popped in my headEye
contact made Blood
beginning to rise As
the sun sets Should
I Partake
of this bountiful feast That
you so gracefully offered I’m
not deserving I
peer through the bushes Hiding
from unkind eyes Not
sure what to think or see I
have waited Too
long For
now you are gone You
and all that you offered A
lost chance I’ll
never regain One
lone tear Solidifies Catching
the moonlight Casting
writhing shadows Where
you once stood © 2010 NianqueAuthor's Note
