Lost Chance

Lost Chance

A Poem by Nianque
"

I Heard an Arabic song that sounded really sad and this popped in my head

"

Eye contact made

Blood beginning to rise

As the sun sets

Should I

Partake of this bountiful feast

That you so gracefully offered

I’m not deserving

I peer through the bushes

Hiding from unkind eyes

Not sure what to think or see

I have waited

Too long

For now you are gone

You and all that you offered

A lost chance

I’ll never regain

One lone tear

Solidifies

Catching the moonlight

Casting writhing shadows

Where you once stood

I so love the fact that the inspiration was from a song. I am constantly getting threads of ideas from stuff through my day and many times it makes for decent writing. This writing was decent indeed. The longing and the distance were concrete images and the regret of opportunity lost is sometimes a hard pill to swallow. Nice job.

Once you began with this stanza there was no turning back, you have written some lovely phrases here...so very lovely,so very nice...casting writhing shadows where you once stood that took my breath away...
Losing a person from your life is just the start of a new journey...which is difficult and dark but somewhere towards the end there surely is light.
