Blue Applicant

Blue Applicant

A Poem by Jacob Baca
"

...Instead of a Red one.

"
Of no concern to you!
Yet, we still expect compliance.
Payment by blood,
is the cost to ally with us.
We know you mean well,
Clear intentions like the river.
Though even through storms,
reflections turn to fiction.
The same goals we pursue!
The same side we have chosen!
The same way we refuse
and decide to bathe in our own poison.
So stamp your thumb and continue on a journey we care not.
Picking fruits ripe, on feet weary awaiting a thanks from us.
And do hold your breathe, save us both some years.
Instead of walking those miles back to courageously face your fears.
