Fail to Escape

Fail to Escape

A Poem by Devin
"

I, just like everyone else, have spent my life running away from things. I'm now out of breath. Don't spend time running away from things. Turn around and face them straight on, or it hurts more.

"
Walk, jog, or run
The road is only straight
What follows behind
Will never stop
Walk away slowly
It won't sneak by
It will catch up
You will catch its eye
Jog away gallantly
It will always keep up
You may run farther
but you will soon stop
Run away swiftly
tearing the pathway
but always remember
it will lead anyway

It's mediocre, I know. This is just a small extraction of my own thoughts and pains.

Nevid,

I did not think your poem was mediocre. In fact, I find your work to be sincere and connected to reality.

Running away from problems is a path down destruction instead of construction. On a personal level, it lead me down spiraling depression because I finally decided to say:

F**K YOU, little demon! I am going to battle you with my MAGIC card!

All jokes aside, it is better to battle your own demons instead of letting them fester.

love,
Ria
