than just fun,

or a flight of fancy, she said ..

Can you not

feel it in those

pretty wings of yours ..

Although I learnt

a long time ago,

it’s okay to look back ..

I dare not go

anywhere

near them, these days ..

It’s all in the way

we plummet and fall

from the sky, you see ..

Much like Icarus burned,

so maybe we all

should have just listened more ..
