It All Boils Down to The Bad Men and Fools

Run, darling run

when you

can no longer fly ..

There are

bodies that burn

and there is

death in the sky ..

Run, darling run

when you

can no longer hide ..

All the bad

men are coming

and so too

are the fools ..

Run, darling run

when you

can no longer cry ..

When all

the oceans are

boiling but

your tears have

run dry ..

Run, darling run

since we

are no longer free ..

Trust nothing

and no one my son ..

While there

may still be sheep

in our once

green meadows ..

Remember

each one of their

shadows,

belongs to the wolves ..

Wow! The calamitous state our beautiful world is in at the moment is superbly penned in this wonderful metaphoric poem. The title drew me in to read it and kept me a willing prisoner of the words until I reached the very end. I so agree about people following the masses without realising that almost always the m is silent! :-) If only people would wake up and become aware. I fear it will be too late when they wake up, sadly! So enjoyed, in spite of the negativity because the words portray the truth of life today in a very real way. Thank you for sharing, Nevin...

That's a fine but somewhat cynical heap of words, Neville! There have always been bad men and fools, in fact their downfall has often hit the headlines because, tragically, headlines about saints don't make the grade. Could you, would you re- post some of your long past poetry, please. It could light a room with love and light, with chariity, fact-finding and faith - once again.

Thank you Ken.
there is a feeling of powerlessness in the face of encroaching fascism. there is death in the sky; each one of their shadows belong to the wolves. the poem is full of great lines that describes the madness we see so much of in the world today.

Dear Neville
what chaotic universe we are in if we must run from almost everything....and i believe you are correct...at least in some places...if nature is in a tizzy, then so are we....which means something very scary is upon us and must flee, in order to be free? "trust nothing and no one my son" a pretty bold statement, well done!
Warmly, B

So lyrical and hypnotic, your phrasing, rhyme, repetition...
The world is largely run by people who are cruel or fools or in some cases both.
Scary thought that, and even scarier that these leaders have so much influence.

This is a scary sentiment of how the world can be a wicked and cruel place in which we dwell. There are indeed bad men or as I would call them evil.

This flows with a musical type rhythm and the words are profound when added all together.
