Mushroom Cloud Mania

Don’t you all think it’s amazing

the lessons we

each learn today, shall likely be

re-learnt again,

over and over, by folk not yet

  even conceived ..

That is of course, assuming no

other crazy

acquires even more of a taste

for power

and they become, so bloody

reckless and order

some other poor b*****d to

push the damn

button on maybe, just a whim

  and a prayer ..

While hiding in a deep bunker

somewhere else

  entirely and presumably, safe ..

I read your poem "Mushroom Cloud Mania" and I was struck by its powerful message. Your words paint a vivid picture of the dangers of nuclear war and the importance of working towards a more peaceful world.

The idea that the lessons we learn today will be re-learned by future generations is both a warning and a call to action. It's a reminder that we must work towards a future that is free from the dangers of war and violence.

Your words about those in power becoming reckless and ordering others to push the button are particularly poignant. It's a stark reminder of the dangers of nuclear war and the importance of working towards a world that is free from the threat of nuclear weapons.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful words with the world. They are a testament to the power of poetry to inspire and move us.

I do love the way you Brits use "bloody." Much more elegant than American swear words, which usually have to do with odd sexual practices. That said, your poem made me think of the bloody Iranians.

I like to picture the circle of hell reserved for despots like Putin to be akin to be very similar to the elevator in Charlie and the glass elevator, by Roald Dahl, with fresh Satan farts pumped into it every day and set on "Scrambled brain" speed settings.
There are so many of the bsmpots that even breathing in is a struggle and once that north Korean twats heart bursts, there'll be even less space for them all to not feel so smug about.
Did I mention it is half filled with runny manure and it's first action every day is to do a flip, leaving them to almost drown, before righting itself to give them half a seconds breathing time, before upending them again. The spin cycle on it is an added bonus and they get to spend eternity like that, regretting never being told no and how special they are. (take heed minelliasts) and stop being so bloody "special!" 😊
And on that note, have a delightful Monday Nev, and enjoy this rather lovely and about bloody time summer we are having, and I don't even think it is summer yet, is it?

Will do. Enjoy mate.
There's no safety from self-destruction and mankind seems hellbent on it. I wish I could say it wasn't true but there are bullies on the playground mostly leaving the big kids alone. But when we see the smaller kids getting pushed around we ought to stand up. The bully always warns us to back off. He says it isn't any of our business. He presumes us cowardly and weak because we've turned our backs and the other cheek before. Bullies never learn and someday there may be nothing left to fight for, Nothing at all.

.......... absolutely .. cheers sir .. Neville
Hiding in a bunker. What a coward. Expecting others to do his dirty work for him. Sadly Neville history has a habit of repeating itself. Our species never seems to learn. However, push that bloody button and we could all be wiped out and won’t get a chance to learn anything ever again. Maybe this planet is best suited without us? What will come first, wipe out by AÍ or nuclear blast I wonder? On that depressing note make sure you have a double red ( a good one) and pour one out for me too chuck. I like my mushrooms on toast not pouring into the atmosphere. Have a great Sunday.
