Duplicity

Duplicity

A Poem by Neville
"

whilst there are lots of words for it .. I think duplicity is quite possibly the prettiest

"

Duplicity

Forgive me, but

I am far too tired

to make love

tonight, or even

contemplate

a single part of it ..

However,

I have no objection

whatsoever,

should you wish

to spend the night

in one of our many

spare bedrooms ..

Either on your own

that is,

or with the lover

I saw you

sharing coffee with ..

In what I once,

thought at least

to be, our very own

special rendezvous ..

This scene is wonderful, it’s about rejection but also about romance and memories good and bad, so it’s really kind of bittersweet….. this could be a great scene in a play… because I can picture it in my mind’s eye….
Lovely

I love Ken's description, "a little love satire." Here's hoping it is far from a fatal attraction!

I love the pair of ya .. thanks a bundle, cheers 🍷N :)
Yes a sad tale shared Neville. When love sweet, turn bitter. Time for separate beds. Thank you my friend for sharing the amazing poetry and the comment.

How polite are these words. How gently spoken and why use a pretty word for something far from pretty?
I put myself in the shoes of the writer here and have to say the language took a decided down turn and the decibels increased to ear splitting level;) And to top it all, the territory chosen wasn’t even neutral. That alone is a kick in the teeth. Right, someone is going to find a suitcase packed. I need some space. :)

Good morning my friend. The sun is shining. Make sure you have a lovely day.

I may have to memorize this; indeed I wish you had written this decades ago, would have saved a lot of time. Hell i might even have had it laminated so i could just hand it over. indeed you should consider doing exactly that, could be a very lucrative sideline hustle for you. Just a suggestion LOL

bloody brilliant bit of love satire my friend

Hmmm...those damn coffee shop windows...they need more curtains.
Probably why most pubs don't have windows.
Nice one my friend.

Oh, Neville how true the little scenario often is.
Sad but true...I know this to be a fact as many years ago this happened to me...
The trick is to see the signs and get quick...
Live and learn..
And, most importantly choose wisely.
Life is far too short for games.

A sad story, being two-faced, two-sided. Yes, we are betrayed and even we can betray......
Pleasant like a short story to me

That'll do nicely Nima, very nicely indeed. Many thanks .. Neville
A woman told me men are like African cats. She said every one she comes across is either Lion or a Cheetah. Duplicity is a nice word for a nasty sort of character flaw. I enjoyed the read.
