it is difficult to do justice to the slaughter but this has gone a long way toward doing so.
I recently saw a Russian family from the Russian controlled portion of Donbas(I think?) interviewed, that had a son enlisted with Russia, who had been killed.
The family didn't seem to know what it was all about but was in full support of Putin.
they also had 12 more children!
It appears Putin has no end of bodies to either sacrifice or to kill.

This is such a gorgeous and intense piece. The simplicity and sunniness of a breakfast after all that war, after all that horror... it’s such a unique and good touch on the horrible things going on, how even if we’re doing simple nice things, war still goes on and to still haunts us, obviously some far, far, far more than others. Hopefully that’ll be a delicious breakfast and I thank you for posting such a wonderful poem. (:

Great work, the fact that you're coming home for breakfast, and not dinner, says a lot. It all still weighing on your conscience, after having witnessed the ugly horrors of war, you are finally home for a well earned breakfast. Surreal.. And as Ms. Chris said, the tea will taste good. I hope you've been well.
Cheers.

Bless You my very dear friend & true ........ N :)
Ok, I won't write about how powerful your words of war are. How searingly profound your brevity is as it bombs the brain and hurts the heart. How your understanding clears the smoke and wipes the tears from reading eyes with surprise.
No, I'll just say I thought tea was served in a cup and muffins were English.

because you have been so kind and indulged me so .. I'll let you get away with correcting me, just this once mind .. the vessel one partakes of one's morning drinkie poos is indeed invariably either a cup or a mug, depending on wot side of the tracks one is from .. a muffin is indeed decidedly English dont'cha know, of course you do, you have already made such a precise affirmation .. Thank you unreservedly for your considered perusal sir n truly ... Neville

.......................... indubitably sir and back at ya :)
The entire world is under siege of some kind, be it war or gun violence in our schools and throughout our communities. It appears humanity is being annihilated from within. Just when we think it can't get any worse, it does.

if only they could all come home, unscathed physically, mentally and emotionally.
But we know that is impossible. as Edwin Starr sang..."War, what is it good for ??? Absolutely nothing"
Powerful write here, Neville.

War leaves a stain upon the earth, in our minds and in our souls. Until we all learn to live in peace, there will be war. Unfortunately, it is the way of man. But, that breakfast sure sounds mighty fine. Temp

dearest Neville... your poem has broken my heart... thinking of the Children. It seems that none of us will be spared the Terror that lingers in the World. We are left with only "Shock" that people could be so Cruel and uncaring. In many ways.. we have made things better... and in a short "Time" there is a Land Slide of Disaster. We are left to pick up the Pieces and Carry On. tenderly, Pat
