Remember Me She Said

Remember Me She Said

A Poem by Neville

Remember Me She Said

Remember me

she said ..

Come sit awhile

and sip ..

Today has not

been bad

at all, and

tomorrow then

shall maybe bring

a whole

new raft

of sweet market

possibilities ..

Oh’ yes indeed,

on rare

occasions such

as these ..

They all said she

seemed

more like some

special

kind of May queen

perhaps

than a single

solitary sunflower

basking in a

field of exquisite

tumbleweed ..

You make my heart leap with such abandon. I read it over and over again. To be remembered. That is all we could ever hope for!

The first line:
"Remember me
she said .." and the last line
"single
solitary sunflower
basking in a
field of exquisite
tumbleweed .." is really interesting when you put those two lines side by side. How could you forget something so uniquely different? A sunflower in a field of tumbleweeds, bright and beautiful, and tumbleweeds.... not as attractive as a sunflower.

The pleasure is all mine!
Many of your poem tuck deep within its tides a pain unspoken. it is there... but the expressions prefer to keep it deep, private and special. this is exquisite dear Neville. when something moves me inside in an endearing tender way that my tear almost fell. it means it has a great amount of sincere feelings. how lonely she was... to only want to be remembered. nothing more.
