I had an uncle who fought in both WW1 and WW2. He lied about his age to join up in WW1 (he was just 15) and he served as a Warrant Officer in WW2, becoming a Japanese prisoner of war when Singapore fell. He survived the trials of war. Many didn't. This poem made me think of him. Certainly a poignant write, my friend!

then I'm gonna thank you again .. thank you again :)
Just remember, that here, now and forever are not far away…. This line puts things in perspective for those who were there when it was said. How poignant! Relating a reality picked from one’s past and sharing isn’t always easy to do especially, if it’s from a war experience. Thank YOU for sharing this.

Very strong, very moving Neville. I felt its power. as it is enthusiastic, as it is unfortunate. What are the benefits of wars? What a soldier have, but here, now and forever? if he wandered beyond these... he will surely lose, maybe not the battle but his mind. your last verse is outstanding. filled with life, as it is filled with death too.
