the title stopped me dead in my tracks Neville.. Dragon s tears was the first Koontz book I read.. gosh it's been years.. I found something equally stunning in your poem.. I had to think about it foe awhile.. I am far more familiar with clear quarts than rubies but if I am not mistaken the ruby as well as dragon tears are high level healing items.. powerful medicine.. "bloody and bright" wow.. I think about current events because it seems to be the life and times we live.. how desperately we need healing.. and I read your poem.. if I were going to seek a mystic path.. which I believe is as valid as any.. please Lord God Almighty.. give me bloody and bright.. like a ruby filled with Dragon's tears..

So visual and that ruby in the dust looked fabulous, but Dragons Tears is a special type of whiskey if I remember rightly, with a ruby red top to the bottle. May be well off the mark here, but it came to mind.

Never heard of that brand of whiskey Chris .. I do quite enjoy the occasional single malt though ..

I was going to call this 'Spessartite' a beautiful stone I have and carry around with me ..
