true enough

within the context

of believing herself to be

nothing but seriously honest

But other than that, she was quite

seriously deluded, needy and broken ...

Honesty is an admirable quality, while mental health illness is a curse that causes much torment to both the sufferer and their family. I know what broken is and it broken is beyond repair. That is difficult to contemplate. There isn't just a little bit of truth here, there is a whole lot of it. I think we all know people who will fit to some extent within these words. There is much of it around, underestimated for years, under resourced and likely with Covid to touch many more sadly. Brevity which speaks volumes. Good mane Neville. Bang on point.

So much is said in these few words , something i need to learn from writers like you ..it's the lies we tell ourselves ..it's the truth we refuse to see .. that destroys us at times and sometimes is all that keeps us going .. A woman has a thousand shades and contradictions within her , survival counts at the end and noone is broken beyond repair .. TYFS this amazing work ..has been long since i have been on cafe ..hope all is well with you my friend .

She believed truly what she believed and in that she was being fully honest and yet how deluded she was and how wrong were her beliefs. Happens to countless closed-minded people who delude themselves this way. It just happens so that they're needy and broken too. That's an inevitable outcome of their outlook. This poem highlights a complex mindset and the shape of it says how a little quirk or eccentricity is based on a myriad of deep-seated issues!

From what I have known of the broken, whether it be myself or others, the honesty and truth can become more fluid and move from position to position, to try to justify or make sense of a fragile mind within a fractured life. All else fades into the ephemeral as they cling to the one thing they have been able to call on before, their own mind.
I know you know Nev, but just in case, you managed to capture the crux of the problem in so few words, that they/ we have no choice but to dredge for answers from a mind that's no longer playing by the rules.

Hope all is as well as can be and wish you a most excellent week ahead....Obviously that would entail not reading a newspaper, listening to radio, watching tv or talking to anyone. I just heard spain is going into a 6 month state of emergency ffs! Well, I'd tell you more, but it's still too dark up here to go outside and start looking for the radio I launched out the front door 😀

When I was a mental health worker, I met many such people. No insight and in denial. Put many of them in the hospital, but the cycle would repeat itself after they were discharged.
