Together

A top of the tide

And an

Offshore breeze

A sprig of rosemary

Left behind

With nothing else

To mark the spot

Where they were laid to rest

Entwined and side by side

"in sickness and health, in life and death" these words came to my mind as I read Your breathtaking ones, imagining two graves of two lovers, together shared life, now together sharing death as life wafts over them. this one is outstanding dear Neville. touched me tenderly, deep and true.

The sprig of rosemary line made me think of beach memorials that i have come across once or twice, perhsps to those lost at sea,to a couple, by your last line.
Now my mind is just wandering between thinking what a beautiful last resting place and possibly ashes being scattered.
A deeply beautiful piece and no doubt very personal piece Neville, so forgive me for hoping it was ashes being scattered, which is painful enough, but my mind is making me queasy thinking of the other possibles of a couple both dying in the same spot.

Rosemary for love and remembrance. How significant is that sprig. Ashes scattered at sea in a favoured spot. I can't think of a finer farewell for your parents. Together for eternity. Beautiful Neville. And your old avatar back. That is beautiful too. A very special write.

Only the scent of rosemary could compete with the pungent seaside stew of kelp and rotting sea creatures . . . it's the careful selection of a detail like that which graces your writing often (((BRINY))) Fondly, Margie
