What a question Neville. And the answer? We do it because we are poets and we can write about it afterwards.
Whether we do it well or not, that itself may also be another question. There are always questions and answers. Look where you took me. Down the garden path.
Good to see more poetry from you. You have been missed.
If we are doing it so well, then let's not question anything else, ok? *wink! wink!* I feel kinda like this after writing a 300-pg novel in 6 weeks! What the hell just happened? If only life was filled with more of these head-turners. Nobody questions life as interestingly as you do! (((grows))) Fondly, Margie

This could be taken a number of ways as "here" could be wherever the author might be or where we all are, as on planet earth. But the latter I might not think we were doing so well considering the state of things. Either way, I believe we should strive to do our best at whatever we put our hand to...whether it be growing a garden or building a treehouse. I enjoyed the read.

I think it is an illness myself I will never understand why I have to write every morning what made me start writing when I was a kid and how over time it just overwhelms my mind... most of the times, I hate what I write sing or create within a day or two I don't even want to see it again:) It definitely was a means to healing and I think for many here it was? I once attended a support group for incessant writers and they kicked me out for jotting the minutes:(

it was me on ya shoulder telling ya to do it though... try telling them that.... cheers Robert...
Perhaps poets/writers expect too much from themselves. Are we doing 'it' well? Is the need to create perfection somewhat elusive at times? Surely it takes time and patience to arrive, smiling broadly, only to wait for yet another of your complex question! Perhaps. Poets can sing other people's lyrics magnificently but can't always be miracle makers too. Words are would-be remedies but not the entire cure - if only life was that easy.
Questions that has no wrong answer. he is giving his every piece a chance to live with free will, a chance to grow and learn, a chance for his piece's faith.
atleast we know how to and what is breathing.
great thinking.
Good question indeed my friend - I believe it is simply because we adore the power of words ................ poetic lines etch themselves onto the core of a genuine writer........ x Fay
I must admit to being a tad confused myself... Cheers E... N:)
