From Beginning to End

From Beginning to End

A Poem by Neville
"

the more I think about it, the more I think I'm write....

"

From Beginning to End

From the moment of that

First inhalation until the

Very last gasp

.

Life is one long adventure

A series of splendid moments

Consisting of opportunities

.

Choices and risks

Each firmly held together by

A single heart beating

.

An electrical spark and a

Series of back on back breaths

A few silly mistakes and lots of love

.

he he... well some of those lives rack up more than a few silly mistakes:) I used the word slapdash in a poem a couple of times now. To me it is an expression of that very moment of the first inhalation... slap... boom off to the races kid.... I don't know if anyone notices this reference as of yet but the contrast of the intended meaning of the expression "haphazard" plays well into the two line expression. You said don't be gentle... but I can see little in this to be critical of. I might add that yes in between the bookends of life lots of beauty/opportunity is available but the key is the ability to see it, some of us lack the vision to grasp these moments for myriad reasons. I like this sketch Nev I always like your sketches

I'm loving reading the poems in your newly-published book TURQUOISE AND SHADES OF BLUE . . .
I love this poem too! It feels like common sense, but many cannot let go of fear or worry or self-castigation. We are all bumbling along thru life, making mistakes & correcting our vision as well as our course! Love this encouraging credo stated in a humble way (((SNUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Re-read this little beauty Nev and have to agree that "life is one long adventure" - - if we see it that way - and as thanks for helping me see that again here's huggles .............. from Fay

I like very much that you like very much etc etc... N :)
All part of life's rich tapestry.. We all have choices, we all take risks and we all make mistakes. Life is like a beautiful patchwork quilt, each patch representing a moment. Joined together with much love. I like your thoughts here Neville.

and i think the mistakes make it perfectly imperfect.
and if we do make choices to take risks...life has been worth it, no matter when or where it ends.

Mel Brooks took a whole movie to cover part one, but you managed the history of the world in so few words. I am impressed Sir 😀

not a problem....
A perfectly positive feel to this reflection on life as we know it - - first breath is important and of course last one is expelled but oh - in between we can revel in choices , dance with love's moments and yield to adventures galore -- this has to be one of my favourite reads from your store Nev and thank you kindly for sharing. ......................... p.s. can find nothing here to be ungentle with Nev. ...............
