Oh gosh Neville,
I feel that this is most definitely the very best I have read of yours so far...
Made my heart ache as I do remember those days so very well...I read deeply between and behind your lines.
I loved this Neville...

Such lyrical beauty contained in this poem Neville. I read and was transported to that time and place you so enchantingly describe.
And of course, in writing this, you tell us precisely where that laughter lies; which is in a never to be forgotten memory.
Beccy.

Neville, an exceptional account of what we might see and feel sitting along a creek or on a cabin porch, eyes closed, gray hair in the wind. I like the little snapshots and flashbacks you inserted here. Regardless of where we grew up, I think this touches many, especially writers. I has a happy-sad feeling and so sincere.

dearest Neville... I also have memories of being in a forest
and showering with a bucket of warm rain... touching and feeling
the presence of tenderness... that still remain. Beautiful poetry
etched with blue forgetmenots. truly, Pat

Neville your laughter tickled the tree trunks and tantalized the canopy and the rings wafted to the stratosphere and sang songs of satisfied purpose to billow yet another day:) I know cause I just saw one drift past me rather pleased looking
oh my goodness ...well done Nev! i was completely taken off guard ..really like what you have done with the smoking and smoke rings .. and that forest shower surrounded me with first loves and romance ... never took a shower in the forest with a bucket .. the contrast with the warm golden sun is pretty precious ... i did however ... build a backyard outdoor shower ... which was delightful and exciting ... wonderful poem sir... enjoyed reading ... would not change a thing! killer turn in closing ..so melancholy ... :(

They say first love is always the sweetest and indeed those halcyon days and serene summer nights linger long in the memory, and it’s only natural that we wonder will such harmony and perfect symmetry be within our lives once more? 💕.
Nice one Neville, just like the age old romantic bards of England, you hit all the right buttons in fine flowing, eloquently penned words!!

Far too kind for words so ya are.. but gotta say a mahoosive thank you Tom THANK YOU TOM :)
Reflections of past moments, treasures in the mind. To be brought out and viewed again through older and wiser eyes. Your first two stanzas are filled with vivid and sensual imagery. I particularly liked your expression, third stanza last three lines. That really comes through. Another super write Neville. Good morning.
Wow, this is so well written, your imagery wonderful as well. Nicely done i found this emotional really
