Nob Hill Hotel Ca

Nob Hill Hotel Ca

A Poem by Neville
"

One of the oldest surviving building in the area just the way it still is.. unchanged... have a nice day now ya'll :)

"

Nob Hill Hotel Ca

The bellhop boy

Smiled and grasped

The day with both hands

He wore his

Uniform loud and he never

Chewed gum on a Sunday

That’s just

The way it always was

In them good old days

It still is on

Nob Hill and Fairmont

San Francisco

Ah, "I left my hear in San Francisco." Actually never been there . . . my daughter and family just moved to a suburb of the place . . . says it's beautiful. I like the easy way to put this together, Nev. Great images . . . "he wore his uniform loud." What a great line! Well done my Brit buddy.

How lovely and nostalgic! I have such a lovely, pleasant image of the belltop boy, makes me think about how pleasant life can be when it is simple; like old folks say it used to be!

A wonderful story in the poem. I liked the old hotels. The ancient feel and the ancient ways are missed. Thank you Neville for sharing the amazing poetry.

........... and to think, we might have been standing at the same bar.... N :)
I love this little poem Neville. It reminds me of some of the old black and white films I used to watch years ago and yet your lines came through in wonderful colour. Well pressed uniform, brass buttons, not a hair or speck of dandruff in site, highly polished shoes, short back and sides, a wide smile and impeccable manners. It pleases me to know you still found some of this on your visit.

quite the scene of nostalgia glimpsed here...with that hope of returning to those days and how some still hold on to them, clutching them tightly.

This is a great poem becuz of the way you choose the barest, most meaningful details to highlight. This the poster child for picking impactful details that convey VOLUMES about a thing/place/person. That's how you paint a huge tapestry in so few words! (((NUGS))) Fondly, Margie
