Skylight

Skylight

A Poem by Neville
"

for those who see & wish beyond their bedroom ceiling

"

Skylight

One wonders what

That lighted window

Shares and with whom

This dark and quiet night

Not tangled webs

For sure

Tho beauty may be found

Therein

But rather

Wondrous woven dreams

Pon which

To while away the night

While mirrors do surely

Marvel from within

A mighty sky view

Star mapped and proud

It may be your last poem for a while, but what a poem to finish on. I have loved the stars with fondness, a line from one of my own poems. Through the skylight I have the heavens at my disposal. I often look at the constellations in the middle of the night when I can't sleep and imagine other people in other parts of the world, doing the same.I think that is a rather lovely thought, that others are viewing what I am seeing. It sort of brings you closer to people don't you think? You have given me a star spangled night to dwell upon. I thank you for that Neville.

oh nooooooooooo Nev me friend! what will i do without you!??? even for "a little while" ;)) i love sky lights .. all my life i love them .. as a carpenter i have put a bunch of them in for others but never have i had one of me own :( but ... that glorious night sky does not escape me gaze sir ... my dogs wake me up at around 1 AM and the other one around 3 AM ... they wake up because i am already awake me self and take advantage of me opposable thumbs to open the door ...while they do their business my eyes must drift skyward ... interesting change in line length in V2&3 ...you kind of made a sandwich between 1&4 ;) had to wrestle with the mirrors from within marveling ... after re-reading a few times i decided to take it as us humans in appreciation and awe of the night skies ... reflect it from our souls ... i like that! enough of the negative on human beings ... i need to celebrate us for a while now ;) hope you enjoy your trip ... and have a healthy break from routines ... i expect your poetic ruck sack will be packed and overflow when you return .. peace and joy ... thanks for your uplifting poem sir!
