Loving by numbers. You took me back many years Neville. I can remember painting by numbers. Oil paints being applied to a canvas with an outline of a picture designating which colour should be used in each space. I found it quite satisfying, particularly as the picture neared completion. You know the gradual build up until you were presented with the whole. If you go through life seeking perfection, then you will be disappointed. It is the imperfections that you learn to love most when you fall in love. It is the endearing imperfections that make you smile. What a lot I have said on a haiku. That's where you took me.

A more profound and poetic way of saying "Count your Blessings"., although sometimes the numbers may not always add up. But no matter - perfection can sometimes be too bland, as it leaves nothing to improve upon. Nevetheless ,Nev, your haiku was "syllabubly" perfect.
Norm.
Ref'g to your Author's note: Don't know who said it - could have been me on a good day: Perfection is worth amending over and over - til you get it right!
Apart from that, your subtle brevity does you that inevitable credit you deserve, Mr. P.

You are right my friend. I tell the kids. You will have many lives. Change cannot be stopped.
"Life in installments"
The above lines. I did like and thank you Neville for sharing the amazing poetry.

Yes indeed. Although I think I am in arrears, because its already cost me an arm and a leg, but am I getting the love I pay for? No. Plus it is a complete b***h to buy shoes and gloves :)
I like these little haiku shaped things, they go down so well and never outstay their welcome. Maybe thats where I went wrong :)
Leaves me guessing at the numbers.
Fractions of your life. Finding a common denominator, even though the numerators may not make for equivalents. So we pass our time, in increments. Has a solemn feel to it. Or maybe it's just me. :)

and if we try to judge our lives based on numbers, rather than actual feelings of the heart...the numbers will not tell the truth....
