Save Some Space for Me

Save Some Space for Me

A Poem by Neville
"

I was gonna call this 'My Guilty Secret' but then I thought, hey.. there's nowt wrong in loving owls.. and thighs of course...

"

Save Some Space for Me

If there is any room

On that comet tail of yours

Save some space for me would ya

Failing that I shall be

Your tawny owl and you

My very own red thighed falconet

I've always been a sucker for thighs myself, whether red or feathered or furry! *wink! wink!* Your poem reminds me of how I was just watching a hawk flying over the dripping treetops yesterday & it looked so noble, I thought I should jot something down. But now here I have your poem to remind me of this majestic sight! *smile* Fondly, Margie

what an absolutely lovely thing to say Lyn.. thank you ever so very much and then some :)
This one resonated with me immediately. How I love owls and falcons and all such magical birds, watching for them always on my way to and from work while driving through the woods. Here you create an enchanted space for both to exist in such beauty and wonder. Magnificent.

If only I could skirt around with that comet. Blazing much to fact, where I must slightly lower my head to catch a breath. Then see the birds of prey jealously shadowing me.

The brightest stars burn so bright that we find it impossible to hold on, or to keep up. We can only wait and hope to grab hold the next time they come round. That Hailey Comet chic must have really been a looker.

The common denominator here is flight and togetherness. You have brought your readers wonderful imagery Neville. A comet's flare is truly beautiful. To ride on a comet's tail a fantasy. And your tawny owl a wise old night bird. The Red thighed falconet an absolute beauty. What an incredibly lovely poem.
