Reading this, I no longer feel like the most jaded person in the world! Wow! You have a way of light-brushing those nasty little characteristics with such rusty irony! The biggest caution sign (for me) is when a cluster of ex's seem to be a regular feature! That's why your closing sentiments really hit the spot! (((NUGS))) Fondly, Margie

In the conversation, it slowly dawned on me that nobody knew he was divorced & everyone thought I was a work comrade not a girlfriend! I've been very wary of ex's ever since!
Your subject seems to be a person of knowledge and experience. Unless one has 'been' there' one is unable to express themselves more accurately. Thank you for this

Private messaging - not wanting the world at large to know! (Lol)
I do enjoy the non nonchalance tone of your mildly effected loss in your cutting! I would imagine similar aspect to the loss of a pair of holey boxer shorts when you get that one pinch to many experience and decide to chuck them for good! I feel for you in this I hate throwing away a pair of boxers too but sometimes you got to set them free to hang with all of there rejected boxer short friends. You have a way with the the ladies dear Nev and much more so with words!

The tone of this feels triumphant to me. Like the scene in the Karate Kid where he's standing on one leg, vulnerable but not beaten, and then. The ones who try to keep us subject to them don't always win.
In the end, our greatest superpower towards people who take pleasure in hurting us is not giving a f**k about their enforced drama any longer, I believe. I felt power here, and an unwillingness to compromise one's dignity any longer. But of course those things don't always equal the ability to forget.
But no one has to know how often we think of them. And that's another power we have, I suppose. If I were there I would give you a high-five for this poem, Neville. I think you nailed it.

So far, so good. Still, as ever, a lot to get through. Best to you
The peanut butter of angst. Do you eat that stuff over there? Any way, yes, relationships are often a twisted maze and one wonders if the person acted this way with the ones before and after ...

We get what we give- it hurts, we wonder, but in the end they reap what they sow then theres no wondering why...we know...the world is a sad lonely place full of people wearing masks too afraid of who they are themselves- be at peace and know all shall be well🌹

A great sentimental poem, Neville, that is proof you still care about her. We readers can all relate to the words you've scribed. Thanks for sharing. :-)
pay back is a b.......... they say ;) so entangling to get caught up with a gamer ...the rules are all bent their way and there is no twist, turn nor competence that will give anyone even the hint of a win ..one just goes deeper and deeper and deeper into the maze ... nope ... never never play a gamer ;) always great to read your stuff sir!
