Dear Jesus

Dear Jesus

A Poem by Neville

Dear Jesus

Dear Jesus

I’ve been

Good

Like you

Told my

Mum

I should

The day my

Daddy came

To live

With you

Now

I’m big

I don’t

Need a

Christmas tree

I want

No more

Little

Boys or girls

To hurt like me

Thank you

Sir

Love

You lots

Neville V Pettitt

Amen

Not everyone forgets the festive period can be one of pain for many Neville, but most do. Bit I did notice the food bank trolleys in the supermarkets were fuller than normal. Perhaps a little guilt at the excesses of the season. If only we could harness that into year long giving, there would be no more need for food banks.
Very well stated Sir.

Beautiful- the pain kids carry we sometimes forget they are human as well no matter how old or young- if only it was so easy-id say one prayer and heal the world...🌹

Yeah.... Amen x
This is wonderful poignant piece of writing. The child is still buried within each of us and we rarely resurrect our younger self. There are however some events which are hard to include in that scheme like the loss of a parent. It takes me right back to when as young children we were taught to say our nightly prayers.God bless Neville!

Yes, let's think of the many who won't be having a good time. Those who haven't got a home, those who can't afford to give their family a decent Christmas, bereaved children, abandoned men, women and children, old people on their own, the sick and anyone else I haven't thought of. Spare a thought for them. Neville that looks like a proper address. I am wondering whether you are thinking of your Dad?
