I missed the deadline.. that was yesterday, but these words have been like a millstone around my neck for well over a year.. just had to post or delete..
November
Welcome to November,
do you ever recall these days how you once welcomed him in and how you ever so casually,
then threw him away. I doubt it….
Do you ever
recall how you danced all night to a lone violin, in that peculiar light and in
that peculiar way. Twas the dance of deceit and to the smell of decay.
Yes welcome to
November, do you mind if I ask, if you ever recall, how you felt when you first
sucked him in, then when you blew him away.
Like a candle, snuffed
out at the end of a long day. I guess not, but I know for sure that he does.
Welcome to my November………..
I see You as "November" dear Neville, maybe it's the month of Your birthday, I love October and November, but I won't like it if it brings You sore memory, there is bitterness in Your words, betrayal that still hurt You, strong emotions and powerful one my lovely friend.

I loved the below lines.
"Do you ever recall how you danced all night to a lone violin, in that peculiar light and in that peculiar way. Twas the dance of deceit and to the smell of decay."
I could write a epic tale from those words. Dance, deceit and decay. Poet's words. Thank you Neville for sharing the amazing poetry.

I love how your natural imagery & apparent inner struggle are dancing in a tantalizing way, never quite revealing, playing cat-and-mouse with your questioning, painting word abstracts from fleeting moments. This one has a tiny abrasive edge just like November often has (((NUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I suggest you take a packed lunch and a flask.. as you've got a long wait ahead of you... cheers tho
The candle was used in more ways than one and left on the sill to bleed after she was done. Now the bitter December winds are nigh and one is left out in the cold, snuffed out, sucked, emptied. A very relatable poem, Neville!

Powerful, great imagery, but the sting of bitterness left it's mark. Left a taste in my mouth. Left a wound in your heart poet, that still bleeds. Fine writing, very fine.
The titke? I am pondering on.
