Fun write Neville. I was always very partial to George Harrison, especially when he sported a beard. I have to say I like them. However, it has to be a proper beard, not designer bloomin stubble or half a dozen hairs hanging from the chin. It has to be hairy, but not untidy. Are you thinking of growing one?

My husband was just telling me how he’s ready for the beard trend to RIP.
Apparently every other man he sees at work is sporting a full beard and he laments the days of beards as the marker of mountain men and lumberjacks.
I’m not a member of either team (hair-shirts vs skins?). I can enjoy a well-groomed beard as much as a smoothly shaven chin. I think it’s a funny debate of the moment, though.
And face-furniture is excellent, haha. Wish I’d coined that term myself.

Great write Neville. To have facial hair or not?. And also the big question. If you do want some facial hair how much?

Man, I detest having to shave. Luckily I work amongst the great unwashed on site so what ya look like doesn't matter. I'm never clean shaven, like to have a wee bit of fluff to hide the ever wrinkling puss, plus the good lady doesn't like my mush completely hair less.
Good morning Neville, enjoyed the read, hope you are well.
my dad had a beard his last couple years...looked good, but so strange....he had been so clean shaven and crewcut all the years i knew him before that...but hey...at 95, he gets to do what he wants.

I used to have a full dark beard, but as I grew old and shrivelled my side whiskers gave up the struggle and my face re-appeared - I think I now try to look distinguished before being extinguished.
Enjoyed the encyclopaedic review of facial adornments though, Neville.

That's one way to put it, I suppose. I must say, I do like beards on men ;P but oh, if it is to impress someone...
This one had me chuckling. I enjoy reading your pieces :)
