Yes.. its a love poem..

No Cage for Thee

 

The brightness of the light

You see

Is greater than

The you and me

So take these words

Fly high and free

I dare not keep you

Tho tempted as I am

And true

For you would

Surely die

Deprived of sun and moon

My love

And of the sea and sky

You shall never be

A keepsake

Nor must you be contained

I therefore set you free

My love

From cages and all chains...

Oh yes, this is a love poem and a very good one. Your words are about a free spirit, more at home with the sun, moon, sky and sea. You can not cage a woman like that. Clip her wings, restrict her movement, you would suffocate her. Your love is unselfish, you show it in your words. You allow her the freedom she needs to survive. You have used more rhyme Neville, than usual, it works very well. A most beautiful poem.

yes it is a "Love" poem, because love sets You free, brings You wings and lifts You high, love has no limits or boundaries, love is selfless... how lovely to read Your feelings, Your thoughts, Your unselfish Love.
