My Dads Chest

My Dads Chest

A Poem by Neville
"

Another one from my daughters old school lunchbox circa 1997

"

My Dads Chest

My dad has got

A hairy chest

He keeps it

Tucked inside

His string vest

Sometimes when

He falls asleep

I find one then

I pull and tweak

Although if I

Ever grab a lot

I tie them

In a double knot

Once I had them

All in rows

Such tiny perfect

Hairy bows

He also has

A hairy nose

From which he

Often puffs and blows

But that’s

Another story

bit like you then......thanks sette.... N
This is such a cute write for your daughter, it is endearing and funny. You make sure you keep all these lunchbox poems safe. The sentimental value is enormous. You have been very busy with poems over the week-end. Lots of catching up to do.

thank you again......
OMG- can’t stop laughing. Great title- what girl does not remember her dear father’s comforting chest? This is the most precious daughter-to-Dad poem I’ve ever read Neville. Sweet verses filled with humorous innocence, excellent cadence and rhyme, and “hairy bows”-you have to love that! And then when we get down to the “hairy nose”, well we gave to wait for that story...Awwwww!

Bless ya dear friend, you are very kind.... N
This is a very cute poem. Nice rhythm and imagery, and reminds me of a game I used to play with my dad called odd or even. It wasn't so much a game as a threat, but laughter running always followed.

we do play with that hair....but we also admire our fathers so much and we hope that they will understand and appreciate that we do it with the utmost respect and love.

Damn right we do..... thanks jacob and how very, very true.... N
A girl after my own heart, for sure! I'm a bad-a*s hair addict & the shirt I'm wearing (which I designed) has printed on the front: I *heart* FUR. Your poem is adorable . . . it could be taken as a playful child's point of view, but also could be read with a couple sexy overtones. Love the uninhibited style. Love the specificity of dad-daughter interactions. This is the first time I ever read something about an adorable physical sharing between dad & daughter, without having my own poignant experience come to mind. I was fully engaged in the fun of your message, which never happens for me when reading about fatherhood (((NUGS))) Fondly, Margie

i LOVE THIS; REMINDS ME OF ME OWN DEAR DADDY...HE HAD THE ADDED FEATURE OF HAIRY TOES...I prefer my men non hairy, though. So much for searching for a man like Dad. The one I did manage to fall for was like Dad in many ways, but NOT in this one. He was blessedly naked in the chestal region.
