I wonder if anyone will still read our words when we are gone? will they be here or just out there wandering aimlessly...maybe by then people will not use words at all...maybe we will be lost forever....

Yes - I get the feeling old bit. And there are no end of old shoes lying about. I really enjoyed this poem - very clever and witty. I thought the eyes of an angel world through a bruise bit was great. I've just celebrated my 67th with all the family a run up our local hill and a swim in the sea. The body is doing ok and my brain in ticking but it's just when I look in the mirror!
Regards.

I get the feeling you & I come at the topic of old shoes from very different directions. I consider old shoes to be revered, not a useless piece of junk being ignored. I wasn’t even thinking “junk” when I read your poem. I became stuck on your well-crafted lines about feeling dejected becuz it’s raining and nobody is texting. Most people carry a device & possibly they’re craving timely responses, since constant access lets them know they’re being left out of things. But since I turn on my computer for only a few hours a day, the rest of the day I have no idea if I’m an old pair of shoes or the hottest thing since sliced bread!?!?! *smile* Anyhow, I admire the way you took these old shoes in a completely different direction than what I was thinking when I clicked on your title. You always do that! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Trying to see the world through the eyes of an angle... Mother Teresa's attitude is exhausting... especially when the other person insists on keeping tabs. Now and then we all feel forlorn and dejected but only you can write a brilliant poem about it, My dear friend.
But old shoes are comfy, and hard to give up! This one seems a little more melancholy than your cheeky. One question, did you mean loose? Or lose?

I remember now how I used to start chatting with Frieda and I'd be off writing a poem ... she's a gal who related well to me, and had that same love hate thing going with men ... I miss her tho I barely knew her
I've certainly got a lot of poetry stuffed all over the place, in drawers, bookcases,on shelves, by my bed, under the bed. Nothing which is gonna cause a problem! So someone is feeling old, worn out and rejected? This sounds like a conversation with an angel. I sense surprise and perhaps disappointment and it's raining as well. That always makes matters worse. Then you lose me at the end. But then I detect a reaching out with a gift of words, and I am thinking "compromise". Good evening Neville, who writes in riddles lol
