![]() Homeward BoundA Poem by Neville![]() As true as true can be............![]() Homeward Bound Oh' my word How he did have us laugh That evening With tales of all his young Yesteryear's Of once driving that Old Russian tank Through streets and fields From Varna through to Velingrad That was when his eldest son Was still a lad and strapped To what is now an obsolete Machine gun mount With Vassa busy baking bread Beneath that Russian tanks Gray and rusting bonnet That is how they once lived He said From hand to mouth No questions asked Unlike today when absolutely Nothing is appreciated And everything instead comes easy
