The older we get, the more the reality sinks in. The hour glass indeed does seem to run faster. Some of us fight it, some of us are oblivious, but one thing for sure, time is apathetic to our machinations within her sphere
we will all reach the endpoint and it is not the issue of how well you have lived or how rich you become but rather it is what had you understood about life and what have you done with it

Thank you dear sette for checking in and checking out these words.... Neville
I enjoyed the poem and I agree with the logic.
"But rather one day
Might just serve to
Remind her of a time
When she once was"
The above real life and real thoughts we shall know. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

First let me assure you how glad we all are to have you back here writing & posting fresh material again! Next let me send my healing vibes to clear up any crusty feelings you may still have lingering! And last but not least, I’ll have to agree with your poetic message that most people do not find TIME to be a friend. No lover or father or brother could convince anyone to make friends with TIME (altho I am friends with TIME myself - speaking of which, I'll be turning 62 in one week from today! yippee!) I always admire the way you write from a protective fatherly point of view (((NUGS))) Fondly, Margie

why I'm getting this feeling that this is about the Holy Books? even if not, there is something here that attracts me into a deep level, of love and innocence lost, of faith and betrayal, of forever love that can't be gained, of waiting and waiting... but he will not come around.

Hello Neville. Words can do alot to reassure, but time is not reassuring. And as we age we are reminded each time we glance into a mirror of the wear and tear that comes with the years. No amount of reassurance from a loved one will make the slightest difference. Find me a woman who says otherwise and I will .... now what will I do? I will have to think about that.

So true, time can take away a loved one. Time can also make you look forward to a great event like a wedding or a birth. Time can make you experience so many emotions. Not always good one. Sadly.
