Another one originally penned for my daughter over a quarter of a century ago

What a Wonderful World

 

If a snail moved as fast

As a tiger

A tiger as slow as a snail

If my goldfish ate all

Of his breakfast

And grew to the size

Of a whale

If a hummingbird

Learnt all the words to a song

If a twenty foot python

Was two inches long

If an elephant swapped

Its crinkly ears

For the delicate wings of a bat

If all blackbirds were white

And sharks did not bite

But each wore a pink bowler hat

What a wonderful world this would be

Blasts of contrasts in this whimsical poem. By your above note it's wonderful to see something written a while back and for your own daughter. I wonder if she has it. Probably. Anyway it did my heart good to read something just because its light hearted.

Yes, the creative and no holds barred openess to this wide world is what you were after in your poem. You tapped into that childlike joy. Animals and birds are wonderful and the way you played with them just brought smiles in me.

I just realized I haven't seen you here in a few days? All your female admirers are missing you, I'm sure. Unfortunately, I have been in a Bulgarian hospital and unable to access any of my personal belongings and like an idiot, never thought to pack my PC before being bit on the ankle by a horn nosed viper......One never seems to learn. does one.... We do wish we can rearrage the world we live in, add things, delete things,change sizes, forms, fortunes and so forth. Part of our childhood and great imagination, I guess. This was really different and unique. I saw a history magazine titled" what if"...Very intersting hypotheticals...
Like what if John Kennedy was not assasinated...

Peter is a really cool guy. I met him through a British Invasion class one of our administrators ran...he had met Peter and Georgie Waller and they both joined the class...Georgie have become good friends...Peter and i email every so often and i have met him a few times when he has done local concerts....he is a charmer...I had all of their singles...both Peter and Gordon and Hermans Hermits...love do both the duo and the group.
