Internet is too large. Hard to protect your work. Even with copyright. Copy and paste isn't the problem for using songs and quotes to enhance your writing. The scary part. What your work is re-posted elsewhere? And if you don't know. You made the writer ponder the safety of their work. Thank you Neville for sharing your words and thoughts.

I know your sentiments represent a big thorn in many backsides, here at the Café, but I truly never think about plagiarism. In these times of rampant electronic ease, we'll never know how many of our words are hanging out on someone else's wall, timeline, blog, kindle, etc. There's unlimited potential for bad behavior, so why waste my thought waves worrying about lack of integrity on the part of lowlifes. Sometimes it's cryptomnesia and sometimes it's just straight plagiaristic d****e baggery. Every once in a while I catch myself thinking I wrote a really good line only to recall I had heard it on tv or read it in an article earlier that week... that's legitimate cryptomnesia. However, there are some folks that are just dirty, lazy, superficial, no-self-confidence having, talentless a*s clowns who straight up steal large portions or even entire poems and try to pass them off as their own. There was this one dude that was here a very long time ago who was a very, very prolific plagiarist.... Chris Vallincourt was his name (he died in real life some time ago). There are other's that have been caught and are still here... Samantha and Steve-o (Pruitt), Wordman... I'm sure everyone who's been here long enough has come across a couple dick holes like that.

i am afraid there are those who do...and this just change the author's names to theirs. It's sad to take credit for what we did not create. But it's on them and sooner or later what comes around goes around, or vice-versa.
