What Do You Drive

What Do You Drive

A Poem by Neville
"

Just a bit of fun........

"

What Do You Drive

I said hey do you drive

?

She said only men wild

!

I said hey babe

.

Let’s go for a ride then

.

But she drove me away

&

Then brushed me aside

,

Just like a flake or a crumb

.

I had nowhere to hide

.

I said hey babe

,

Let’s take a walk on the..

!

Too late she was gone

.

Oh well

!

It was fun while it lasted

xx

You should have told her to take a hike!

This sad in its way.. but as ever great wording, great meter and a touch of .. gentle cynicism.

Love it...."take a walk on the wild side" was unsaid, but whispered by my mind as I read. Enjoyed the rhyming and the fun attitude here. Lydi**

It sounds like the Smart Alick was outsmarted. Hope it wasn't (auto)biographical, Neville. Loved the twists in this. Must catch up on Lou Reed though, I was probably too old in the tooth to appreciate his style........ I led a very sheltered life:-)

"Take a walk on the wild side" has been my lifelong mantra . . . I think it in a sing-song way, all the time! *smile* Your poem reminds me so much of my youthful inner bronc rider, I almost thought you'd written this for me! *wink! wink!* Thanks for inviting a fun romp! (((NUGS))) Fondly, Margie

It is very hard to get English CDs here now, a decade ago when economy was booming we could ... I am not familiar with Lou Reed. I loved the style of this writing the punctuation marks gave a new force .... and iam sure this never happened to you. With your gentlemanly manners, that wonderful sense of humor of yours, you are irresistible!
