Feral Girls

Feral Girls

A Poem by Neville

Feral Girls

The feral girls of Foo Kin Ya move like rats on speed and crack

Among the shadows and the debris of deserted bars and café’s

Those that line the pavements and the jetties where individual

Hopes and dreams lay shattered and discarded like so many ice cream wrappers

Where once desecrated temples yawn and a handful of disciples still puke monochrome

Where one way or another anything goes

Then disappears quicker than a mercury and a margarine fix

.

Vibrant, vivid and everything I find distasteful and yet that is how some girls have to live. That is all there is for them and that is what is so shocking. There is some cracking expression here Neville. I was left with a heavy heart. Anyone with daughters and granddaughters would. Brilliant piece I would add.

I read this initially thinking it was a lively animated scene using a ton of popping descriptive details from an underworld many probably do not know about. It wasn't until I read Chris's review that I realized this could be a less-than-positive commentary on these feral girls. I guess becuz I'm pretty feral myself, it didn't occur to me to worry about daughters & granddaughters. All the lively characters find their way, often more deftly than those from warm fuzzy beginnings. Nicely powerful & thought-provoking (((THUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Desecrated temples, broken, defiled deities. The images are vivid here sir. The feral girls reminded me of a pack of feral cats in the wilderness. Addicted to speed, to danger and to deadly pursuits. Its truly a jungle out their. Sans morals, sans restraint. This is no place for dreams. Superbly penned dear sir!
