The Voyeur

The Voyeur

A Poem by Neville
"

Fiction from one end to the other folks, just in case you might be wondering....Oh' and my daughter studied 'film production' at uni x

"

The Voyeur

I watched a woman watching swifts

Whilst waiting for her lover

I watched her

From this vantage point

Like there would never be another

I watched a woman watching swifts

Until the end of summer

I watched her

 From this vantage point

Plain clothed and undercover

I watched a woman watching swifts

Encouraged by her candour

I watched her

From my vantage point being ravaged by a stranger

Although now many years have passed

Such images remain and I find myself yet wondering

How many gins or vodka’s or martinis will I need

To help me through another day

?

The idea for this has been kicking around for some considerable time. It was originally intended to form the story line for a short film.... How the voyeur earn't his PTSD...

Reminds me somewhat of Hitchcock's classic, ' Rear Window ' starring James Stewart and Grace Kelly, were a wheelchair bound photographer spies on his neighbours from his apartment window and becomes convinced one of them has committed murder.

Fascinating as it is intriguing Neville !
