I met her whilst I was volunteering in Africa. She was an intelligent and independent but potentially vulnerable woman out there alone & for a short while, we befriended each other. Nothing happened. Give it to me, come on why dontcha...

A mysterious rendezvous indeed. Sounds like playing footsie under the table gave both of you ideas, but they never came to fruition. Still, a memorable meeting and it obviously left an imprint on your memory. Great character study and great imagery. Lydi**

Nothing happened...but in my view, plenty did. If you look at interactions beyond just the physical. It's all in the mind after all. ;)
A very interesting sketch of Cova here. Quite an unusual name. I am especially intrigued by the lack of fingerprint but also by her intellect and her boldness. I wonder if she was more than a handful for her husband who took solace in old manuscripts. But that's just me overthinking perhaps. The last line leaves the tale open-ended nicely, for the reader to guess.

I both simultaneously concur and submit .. you got me DIVYA .. apparently, she was much younger than her old fella who much like me, had a thing about old books .. I collect them, while he made a killing out of repairing them .. I think rarely of her these days but when I do, I do with a rare positivity because .. and I have given this much thought over a long period of time .. I am pretty sure I helped to heal a part of her that had become frayed .. I am glad you came by these words my friend .. and truly .. Neville

Especially, a positive one. By simply reaching out, one can help heal/renew another in ways, we can't even fathom. It costs nothing and leaves all enriched. I'm glad we could share our thoughts on it, dear Neville.
This is an almost romantic tale with one of those chance encounters. A beautiful intelligent woman and the possibility of what could happen. We all make choices and choose paths to take.
There is nothing wrong with sharing friendship and conversations. Allowing it to go further is not for me judge. Things happen in this life and we make decisions based off of reason and emotions others couldn’t and don’t know for they aren’t in that moment.

Wow, this had intrigue and lust and possibility written all over it. Those happenstance meetings where you get along a little too well and will always wonder what could have happened. Really good, enoyed this!

Yes, snapshot in time and I felt a bit like voyeur. Your lines built up with anticipation of something truly wonderful that was about to take place. The scene was certainly set for it, the suspense was all there, everything was going very nicely and then.....why dontcha know it.....You convey this really well Neville and your imagery is sharp and realistic. Nice work.

If only Divya was there... we could all find an easier way to commit suicide.
Very sexy, though it likely does not need the mature tag, as it is too sophisticated to catch the eye of the MaturePolice.

You're on fire, this is right there. It captures a little moment of life in a big way. There are no wasted words and I esp like '...old manuscripts, Hence her being there alone' And I can damn well see those vultures about their meal. And the fact it is 'something' is just right because it is not important what it is as it is incidental to what is nearly going on. Really vivid word snapshot, very real, strong communication of moment and feeling.

Man, DIvya is soooo good at getting people with mental health issues to think about suicide... we should all support her and her quest to up the suicide rate.
