'Somewhere'

'Somewhere'

A Poem by Neville
"

Just a few words slung together that kind of took form as they settled in the dust of many yesterday's long gone

"

Somewhere

K and her amazing

Technicolor dream socks

Seemed bright at first

Until they faded

K in her nightshirt

Played with the cat

And laughed

Before we went to bed

I imagine even now

The soft and fragrant light

Of midnight oils

Still burn somewhere

mmmmmm .. for something slung together it came out very well, i think .. i wouldn't change anything about it .. its such an easy read .. emotive .. smart scene creation .. scents and sounds .. the title and last line wrap it up in a tightly woven, mature, healed experience of lost love .. i suppose she took the cat with her :}

Poignant and nostalgic memories Neville of a once-upon-a-time long ago, though the sentiment is still evocative and almost tangible such are the power of your creative words !

Neville, this is simply lovely. There must have been a little bit of magical memory in the air when you penned this.

This is interesting, my friend, as always. A love that faded, one for a woman who was bright, and brash, but in the end wasn't all that? And where is she now, amidst the scented candles, playing with her cat.

'Technicolor dream socks'...I have to get me some of those, interesting Neville, sounds like some bittersweet reminiscing of a love long gone. I really like that last stanza, enjoyed.
