I know just how many cracks there are in my ceiling as well Neville. Been there, done that bought the wotsit and then done it again. And again and. Going to lie down now and try not to look at my ceiling.

Expectations in Love...They grow and grow and never end. There was an age when love traveled to distant lands, in the form of little love notes, upon the backs of homing pigeons and was sustained for lifetimes. Now, our sincere, heartfelt poetry, suffices perhaps only for the briefest of blissed phases and then its onto more complex kind of things, baffling for the simple poet. I shed tears for all those poets with so much of their heart and soul to offer. I wish it was enough but it seldom is. Great poem, Neville!

The author wants the best for his love, in reality he is unable to provide that. But he makes up for it, poems from his heart and soul, but that alas appears not to be enough. This romance appears to have gone sour, and there are unresolved issues here. It's always the unresolved questions that are the hardest to deal with. Answers can make a lot of difference, even if they are painful. Without them, there can be no closure, only torment. Nicely expressed Neville. Sad little poem.
