Having Spent Too Long at Ye Old Inn

"

Make of this as you will, just see if I care

"

Having Spent Too Long at Ye Old Inn

Sunlight stains the dark oak table

Or rather bleaches it

Whilst the old men

Tell their stories once again

Outside swirling mist

Surrounds the early evening water

Ancient picture history

Spartan warrior I see your face clearly

In the shadows mist and wood grain

Yet I dare not draw my sword against you

However I am not afraid to fill this pen

With either blood nor ink or ale

I can see the images - past and present mingling, over a pint. :)
